Today on my blog about how noise affects our health. This is a really important topic, because noise accompanies us every day and every day is a potential threat to our body.

Noise is all sounds that are unpleasant to us, cause anxiety and disrupt normal functioning. We deal with it at work, at home and at school, it also does not leave us on a walk, frustrating our dream rest, and what is worse, very often we have no influence on its intensity. Of course, there are also such situations when we ourselves expose our body to harmful sounds, without being aware of the serious consequences.

Why is the noise so dangerous?

The quality of our hearing is deteriorating

This is probably the most known side effect of noise. It all starts with fairly innocent episodes of hearing loss, which in the worst case can last for several days. However, if such situations are repeated, hearing damage may occur, which will result in permanent deterioration or even complete hearing loss.

Disorders of the digestive system

Not everyone knows that noise can also cause digestive disorders and gastrointestinal diseases. Stress directly related to noise plays an important role here, it is responsible for the increased release of hormones into our body: adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol.

Our body getting ready to fight, slows digestion, increases glucose levels, releases more insulin and accumulates fat. Stress-induced noise can also contribute to heartburn, indigestion and, consequently, gastric ulcer or ulcerative colitis.

It hinders learning and prevents concentration

Noise also disturbs the work of our brain, so when we are constantly exposed to it, it is much more difficult for us not only to focus on the performed activity, but also to acquire new knowledge, teach something by heart or just think logically. Our creativity also falls, we feel tired and stressed, and our brain is exposed to a continuous supply of various types of sound stimuli, there are no conditions to regenerate.

Our body's immunity decreases

Long stay in the company of unpleasant sounds also affects our immunity. Noise, causing stress, inhibits the immune reactions that take place in our body, thus increasing the risk of developing both various types of minor infections and serious diseases. Sounds unpleasant for us can also be the cause of an increased reaction to allergens and the occurrence of diseases resulting from the self-aggression of our body.

It disturbs sleep

Noise is also a stressor that has a huge impact on the quality of our sleep. It is one of the main factors disturbing our night rest. It is because of him that we have difficulty falling asleep, we sleep restlessly and often wake up. Insufficient sleep means that our body does not work properly, and we are tired and irritable. It is also worth remembering that not everyone reacts the same, some will be awakened by not too loud sounds, and others really decent noise.

It causes psychological problems

Bothersome noise also significantly increases the risk of depression, anxiety and mental illness and in children can be the cause of mental retardation. It is also him who makes us become more aggressive, hostile to the world around us and it is increasingly difficult for us to keep old and make new friends.

However, this is not the end of noise also accelerates the aging process of our body and makes us live shorter. That is why, my beloved, it is worth realizing how important in this rushing and loud life our everyday moment of relaxation and enjoying the wonderful blissful silence is.
